Top Game Highlights of Tokyo Games Show 2019 - Part 2

As I promised, I'm back with some more thoughts on the games that were shown at Tokyo Game Show 2019. I'm not gonna do another intro since I did that already in the previous article and if you haven't read that one, you can check it out here. In fact, make sure to do that as I've already covered some games and it will stop you from saying things like "but what about this" and "what about that" game.

Without further ado, let's continue...

Nioh 2

The fact that this game has been in development isn't a secret, it has been announced quite's some time ago but this is the first time that we've seen some of the gameplay and heard about the open beta that will take place on November 1 and will go on for 10 long days so if you happen to own PlayStation 4 or Xbox One make sure to register and hope to get picked.

The biggest addition to this already amazing game is definitely the introduction of co-op, something that souls like games have always aspired to do and something that has proven to be one of the most interesting aspects in these hard-core dungeon crawling action role-playing games.

The reason in the second thing that I'm not particularly fond of is the fact that this game is Android and iOS only. That's right, this is a mobile game exclusive so to say and nobody really knows why because games like these can easily be ported and ran on modern systems and consoles yet the developers decided to go with mobile exclusivity.

The presentation for this game took quite a while and the going through all of the stuff that they mentioned wouldn't be possible without dedicating an entire article to it so, I'm just going to mention a couple of key aspects.

So there's asynchronous cooperative mode for up to three players. This game is technically going to be a prequel so we will get to learn more about the story of the game. There was the introduction of the "Dark realm" which doesn't sound like a fun place where you will still randomly get dragged from time to time so keep an eye out for that.

For those of you who want to learn more about the game, here's a video that explains a lot.

New Resident Evil Game

There is going to be a new resident evil game that seems to use the exact same engine in gameplay mechanics that he get introduced to with the Resident Evil 2 Remake. However, this game is not going to be anything like it it seems. Titled Project Resistance, this new installation of the beloved horror game franchise is going for the multiplayer this time around where you will try to survive with other people while the villain known as "The Mastermind" will try to take you down.

What's interesting is that The Mastermind is going to be controlled better player and will be tasked with deploying monsters on the map and even assuming direct control of them. This is all for the sake of killing the survivors since you will be competing with one another as survivals have goals of their own that they're trying to accomplish.

Those of you familiar with the older resident evil games might remember Outbreak titles which were very good but didn't really do well back in the days for which I'm blaming the technology of time as the games were actually very good in my personal opinion. Some of us believe that this game is going to try to bring that experience back and if that's the case I can be happier however, right now we don't really know much about the game so keep an eye on more news about it.

Gungrave G.O.R.E

Speaking of old games, there's a new Gungrave game titled Gugrave G.O.R.E. I'm not sure if many of you are familiar with this title but, think of it as a game all about fighting and shooting guns, really, really big guns, all the time. Kind of like if Devil May Cry was all about gunslinger style rather than swords and other melee weapons.

If you don't know this game, then it's pointless to compare it to those like Bulletwitch you probably don't know that one either so I'm just going to say that this is a hard-core action game within nonstop action, adrenaline pumping combos and really, really big guns.

I'm excited to see games like this making a comeback and if you're a fan of action games, I suggest you check out this particular title as it might be worth your time.
